Product Catalog

The old way: SanMar tab, S&S tab, your spreadsheet, Shopify admin. Repeat.

Your entire catalog used to be someone's full-time job.

Beetle reads your vendor data, applies your margin rules, builds every variant, and pushes finished products to your Shopify store. A catalog that used to take a week now takes a morning.

The catalog problem

Before

Vendor prices change Thursday. You find out when a customer complains Monday. Building a new client's store takes four days of copying style numbers, looking up pricing, writing descriptions, and uploading images. That's before you even start on mockups.

Now

Beetle reads your vendor data, applies your margin rules, builds every variant, and pushes finished products to Shopify. Price drift is flagged before your first coffee. A catalog that took a week takes a morning.

  • SanMar and S&S Activewear sync on schedule
  • Per-variant pricing, not flat 40% markup
  • Artwork auto-paired to garment color
  • The only tool that builds from a prompt, pulls live vendor costs, and prices every variant to margin

What other catalog tools miss.

Each one solves a problem you've been working around for years.

01

Tell Beetle what you need. Get a complete catalog back.

Type a prompt: "Gildan 5000 and PC54 in Black and Navy, left chest embroidery for Ridgeway Hockey." Beetle pulls vendor specs, applies your margin rules per variant, writes titles and descriptions, maps decoration locations, and generates a full plan. You review it, edit the two items that need adjustment, and approve. Fourteen products, 168 variants, 30 minutes.

The work that takes your team four hours happens in the time it takes to drink a coffee.

02

Stop losing money on 2XL.

Most platforms apply a flat percentage across every size. But the 2XL costs $2 more from SanMar than the medium. And embroidery on a heavyweight blank costs more to run. PromoTastic calculates pricing at the variant level: your vendor cost, your decoration cost, your target margin. Every size prices itself to hold that margin. The 2XL isn't subsidized by the medium.

Most catalog tools apply a flat markup percentage. PromoTastic prices each variant individually -- including the 2XL upcharge.

03

Vendor changed a price. You'll know before your client does.

When SanMar updates pricing, PromoTastic flags every affected product with a drift alert. You see the old value and the new value side by side. Accept the vendor's change across all affected products in one click, keep your override, or set a new value. Resolved drifts sync to Shopify automatically. Your storefront stays honest.

This is not a notification. It is a resolution workflow with a full audit trail.

04

Already on Shopify? Bring your whole catalog over.

PromoTastic reads your existing Shopify catalog and maps it into your system. Products that import cleanly go straight to draft. Products with issues go to a review queue with specific guidance on what needs fixing. Failed products can be retried individually without re-importing the 47 that succeeded.

CommonSKU has no import. Printavo is CSV-only. This handles the messy reality of existing catalogs.

05

White logo on a white shirt. It only has to happen once.

When you upload artwork, Beetle classifies it as dark (needs a light garment) or light (needs a dark garment). Every color gets a decisive classification — no manual review step. When you build a product, the system matches artwork to garment color automatically. Heather Navy gets the white logo version. Athletic Heather gets the dark version. The logic understands apparel industry color names, not just brightness values. You can override. But the default is always right.

Color classification prevents the wrong file on the wrong garment before it reaches production.

06

Position the logo, set the size in inches, save the mockup.

The mockup composer layers your client's artwork onto garment photos with drag, scale, and rotation controls. Set placement in inches -- 3.5 inches on the left chest, not "about there." Save one composition, then batch-generate mockups across every color variant. Eight mockups in the time it used to take to open Photoshop.

The composer understands decoration locations -- left chest, full front, back -- not just X and Y coordinates.

A day with Product Catalog

This is what Thursday looks like when your catalog runs itself.

Accept the price change on PC54. Archive the discontinued style. Done in four clicks.

  3. 10:20

    New client needs a catalog

Paste in 15 style numbers. Beetle builds the generation plan while you take a call.

  4. 11:35

    Catalog is ready for review

Approve the plan. Products create. Push to Shopify. Client gets a link before noon.
